Because the platform only connects people, every handover depends on your own judgment. These rules exist to protect both sides.
Important traveller safety notice: Carrying belongings for another person across a border can create serious legal, customs, airline-security, and personal risks. Never carry anything that you do not fully know, personally inspect, and are legally allowed to carry. You are solely responsible for complying with all airline rules, airport-security rules, customs requirements, import/export laws, sanctions, taxes, declarations, and local laws in every country involved in your journey.
Do not carry unknown, sealed, suspicious, illegal, restricted, unsafe, or improperly declared belongings. If you are unsure about an item, do not carry it.

Built for community support, not commercial delivery: Spare-bag is designed to help people connect through trusted travel communities. It is not a courier, freight, shipping, logistics, or commercial delivery service.
Spare-bag does not guarantee that a connection will be made, that any arrangement will be completed, or that a traveller will carry any belonging. Each user makes independent decisions and remains responsible for their own actions.
Safety principles
Always inspect the item
Never carry a sealed package. Open and check the contents together before you accept anything into your luggage.
Meet in public places
Airports, train stations, and busy cafés are good handover points. Never agree to private or remote locations.
Know your airline's rules
You remain responsible for everything in your luggage. Check your airline and customs regulations before you fly.
Decline anything unclear
If a sender won't show you the contents or the item feels wrong, walk away. You are never obliged to carry anything.

Spare-bag may not be used for illegal, unsafe, restricted, prohibited, suspicious, unknown, falsely described, or improperly declared belongings or activity. The examples above are not a complete list.
Never accepted on the platform
Spare-bag does not permit any item that is illegal, unsafe, restricted, undeclared, prohibited by airline or airport-security rules, prohibited by customs or import/export law, or not fully known and personally inspected by the traveller.
Do not list, request, or carry any item unless you can personally confirm it is legal, safe, allowed by every applicable airline and airport, properly declared for customs, and fully inspected before handover.
Listing or requesting a prohibited item leads to removal from the platform. If in doubt, don't match.
You are responsible for every item
Beyond these categories, every user is individually responsible for ensuring that each item they carry, send, receive, or agree to transport complies with:
- Applicable laws in the departure country, any transit countries, and the destination country
- Airport and aviation-security requirements
- The baggage, dangerous-goods, and restricted-items rules of the relevant airline
- Customs, import/export, tax, and declaration requirements
Traveller responsibility: Spare-bag is a community-based peer-to-peer platform that helps travellers with unused luggage capacity connect with people who may need help moving personal belongings between locations. Every user makes independent decisions and is solely responsible for their own conduct, travel, belongings, inspections, declarations and legal compliance.

Your privacy in contact
The platform never displays phone numbers, email addresses, or WhatsApp details. All contact starts inside the platform, and you choose what to share, when, and with whom.
